For IRC coming from X-Chat I can't really stand Colloquy, I'm using Limechat (http://limechat.net/mac/) a very nice and light RubyCocoa app. For chm files iChm works pretty well. Didn't know Nocturne... I will check it out. I’ve also switched to os x roughly a year ago and I use almost the same software… ;-)
